The Abundant Food Culture of Tachikui, the Home of Tamba Ware
In this nature-rich region, seasonal vegetables, Tambasasayama’s famous black soybeans, and rice grown with pure water are cultivated. Harvest experiences and direct sales are available, and food trucks also help enliven Tamba Ware events.

Kamai Farm, Tambasasayama
A farm producing and processing rice, specialty black soybeans, seasonal vegetables, and sword bean tea in the favorable climate and soil of Tamba-Sasayama. On weekends, they operate a food truck called “mametoimo,” serving baked sweet potato sweets. The stones used for baking incorporate “garamen,” fragments of Tamba Ware that could not be sold. These ceramic pieces gently retain heat, resulting in slowly baked sweet potatoes packed with sweetness.
By finding value in nature, culture, and even unused materials, they continue to deliver something meaningful.
